Why Choose Powervault 3 To Store Electricity In Your Home?
Powervault 3 is an intelligent battery system for the modern smart home, designed to maximise energy efficiency and value for the customer. Powervault 3 reduces customers’ energy bills by storing free solar energy or cheap, off-peak electricity from the grid. Customers can also receive an income from Powervault by allowing Powervault’s proprietary GridFLEX™ platform to occasionally control their Powervault 3 battery and support the grid when it is under stress. By connecting Powervault 3 directly to their solar system, customers can also prevent the need to replace their solar inverter when it fails.
Powervault 3 can reduce customers’ electricity bills by up to 20% by storing solar energy during the day and discharging it in the evening. Powervault 3 can also charge from the grid, which means it can store cheap, off-peak electricity. Customers on ‘smart’ time-of-use tariffs can save an additional 15% on their energy bills by storing low-cost electricity and discharging it at peak time. Powervault 3 is compatible with Economy 7 tariffs and Green Energy UK’s TIDE tariff. Powervault 3 is forward-compatible with other ‘smart’ tariffs, which are forecast to become widespread once smart meters are installed.
Powervault 3 enables customers to use less of the energy generated by centralised power stations and more of their own, locally-generated, clean energy. Powervault works with the National Physical Laboratory to better understand the impact Powervault 3 and Powervault 3eco has on greenhouse gas emissions. The National Physical Laboratory has calculated that Powervault 3 and Powervault 3eco will, depending on the capacity of the system, reduce CO2 emissions by >300kg/p.a. in the average U.K. home.
Smart Tariff Charging
Powervault 3 is compatible with ‘smart’ time-of-use tariffs, which vary in cost throughout the day. Using Powervault’s proprietary smart tariff controller on the Customer Portal, customers can select the charging schedule of their Powervault 3 system to ensure they benefit from low-cost energy from the grid. This provides additional benefit to customers, beyond the benefit of storing excess solar generation during the day.
The Powervault customer portal provides customers with a platform from which to monitor their energy use and optimise their Powervault 3 charging schedules. It provides customers with accurate information about the present and historical performance of their Powervault 3 system. Customers can also use the smart tariff controller on the portal to optimise the charging of their Powervault 3 systems against ‘smart’ time-of-day tariffs.
Powervault 3 is designed to enable customers to become more energy independent and reduce their reliance on electricity supplied via the grid. Powervault 3 allows customers to maximise the use of their clean, green solar energy and either minimise or eradicate their export to, and import from, the grid. Powervault 3 also helps protect customers against rising electricity tariffs, which are currently increasing at a rate of >6% per year.
Ease Of Installation
Powervault 3 is very simple to install and is compatible with all solar systems. Powervault 3 is an ‘all-in-one’ system, which means it contains batteries, an inverter/charger, a Battery Management System, an Energy Management System and various control boards. Customers are not required to buy additional hardware to install Powervault 3.
Compatible With All Solar PV Systems
Powervault 3 is an AC-system and is therefore universally compatible with all solar PV systems. No additional parts or adjustments to your existing solar PV system are required to accommodate Powervault 3 in your home.
Powervault offers a comprehensive 10-year warranty on the Powervault 3 system and a 3-year warranty on the Powervault 3eco system.
Powervault 3 has been designed to be safe to use in domestic and commercial premises. All products have undergone extensive safety testing, and EMC and CE certification.
